I attended both community college & Ivy League university. Community college changed my life in a way that, for me personally, Ivy League never did - it enriched my life and filled me with hope, confidence, pride, knowledge, and most importantly lifelong desire for learning.

Proud to say I CHOSE to spend 3 years at the same community college (

After being medically retired from the air force I thought my life was over. I went to community college for lower stress, met some amazing professors and people and slowly figured out how to be a civilian and a software engineer. It was pivotal for me.

I was an adjunct prof at a community college, for a couple years following the Dot Com Bust. Loved that job.

Me too! But I wasn’t rejected. My parents went bankrupt 5 years earlier, and my college fund was lost. I didn’t understand that until we had huge “discussions” around FAFSA and them saying, “sorry we don’t have the money. You are 18 and on your own...”

I wasn’t a fan of community colleges when I started but now I love them. They saved me from a lot of debt!!! I may have been set back a year with the transfer, but I am happy with my ultimate path!
