    so much writing advice is so bad. vague generalizations that are not actionable - or will turn you into a worse writer, or assume that the same thing works for every person. I think this might be because the people who write 'how to write' lists are not actually writers

    If the impeachment trial is being held to the standard of a criminal trial then the judge would be declaring a mistrial, issuing contempt orders, and pushing for investigations. But instead Chief Justice Roberts will give us a "folksy" baseball metaphor before closing out.

    I’m very pleased the Senate has rejected Democrats’ request to call additional witnesses after the House chose not to. As I have stated, this is not an impeachable offense and the witnesses sought by the House managers were available to them in the House.

    I tell people to stop worrying about futuristic runaway smart AI, because it's stupid current AI that will kill us, this is what I mean. Someone bought a product that *literally* text-matched the word "charity" as 'good' and "vodka" as 'bad' and is making hiring choices with it.

    I had to get a background check for my job, and it turns out the report is a 300+ page pdf of every single tweet I’ve ever liked with the work “fuck” in it. Enjoy your dystopian bs! *waves*

    The precedent set is that as long as you control the Senate then the President is King. Democrats, get at winning the elections by any means necessary because you cannot be convicted.

    .'s position acknowledges Trump's corruption while helping to carry Trump's coverup of that corruption to completion. It's a betrayal. It leaves the country exposed and adrift, in the dark about what Trump is prepared to inflict on us.

    the only message democrats should take away from this is that cheating works. it's not illegal anymore and it's part of winning elections. not cheating is like voluntarily playing with fewer players. there are no consequences for cheating, and we should be doing it every day.
