Hello. Young kids back in school are so sick right now. Everyone with a preschooler has an entire household of sleepless viral cough snot fevers for the past two months without a fucking break. So if you know a parent going through this, be kind and gently hit them with your car.
I've had a tiny tiny insight into how much work, how many leads have to be followed, how many pitches and rejections and dead ends and just how hard and relentless they've had to work to get here. I'm so damn proud of Stef and Anders.

As Orion heads off to the moon a HUGE thank you to DSN Schedulers everywhere. They've been working magic as Artemis comes through the network like a freight train with almost no lead time to change plans and all without skipping a beat. Love you guys.
Congratulations to Good Night Oppy. The documentary has won the #criticschoice Documentary Award for Best Documentary Feature. #GoodNightOppy@ryanwhiteIV@Amazonstudios@PrimeVideo#documentaryawards
Congratulations to Ryan White, winner of the #criticschoice Documentary Award for Best Director. #goodnightoppy@ryanwhiteIV@amazonstudios@primevideo#documentaryawards
And all that said - now time for the awards - https://youtube.com/watch?v=ke7W3MKy9fw… - Good Night Oppy is up for Best Documentary Feature, Ryan White for Best Director, Best Editing, Best Score, Best Narration, and Best Science/Nature Documentary. That's a lot :)
Time for another #GoodNightOppy spam thread as we approach the @criticschoice Documentary awards tonight. What data got used by ILM and the editing team to build Mars?
tl;dr Incredible creativity and talent put into this by ILM - and the raw data they started with is all out there in the public domain. Just like with the raw JPGs of every image that was put online as the missions were still going...this adventure is yours to be a part of.
DEMs are the best orbital data you're gonna have.... like this of Victoria Crater https://uahirise.org/dtm/dtm.php?ID=PSP_001414_1780… which is what they started with for that opening shot of Opportunity at Victoria Crater...
Y’all are truly remarkable. Day ONE of our #PRUEKids fundraiser, and you’ve already given over $1500 to help kids in need. That’s 15 kids who get to have a good holiday because of our amazing racing family.

Finally got to watch Good Night Oppy, a wonderful ode to exploration, endurance and the emotional highs and lows along the long road to Mars. Highly recommend.
But I have to give credit to the amazing AV crew running the show at the Four Seasons - they looked after me so well and ran what must be a really complicated setup with perfection for nearly 5 straight hours. I hope our paths cross again...you were awesome.
At one point I think I spoke to 5 different folks in under 30 mins. I don't know if they were just being nice...but all of them genuinely seemed to have loved the movie. A few highlights that hopefully some of you will see over the next few days :
I've seen those talking head interviews for movies in the past and presumed they brought their own cameras. NOPE! The journalist walks in....sits down right infront of you - they get 4 minutes to chat....and they get sent the footage. It makes it so slick.
And it was from ALL over the place - local tv folks from all around the country as well as movie and science press from around the globe. India, Portugal, Netherlands, UK. But also about a dozen in-person. This is where it gets weird
So I was talking to people right down the camera. They got moved into the call - the team in the room record the interview at my end - and then they get told ‘OK you have 4 minutes’ or some had 8, the longest was about 20.
DAMN is this a slick operation. An entire suite at the Four Seasons in Beverly Hills set up for me for the whole morning. Two cameras - one for me, one for whoever might be interviewing in person.
