    Is the gig economy the future of work, or is it actually more of a blast to the past? Jacob talks of a generational divide, the younger generation were more interested in short term fixes as opposed to the older generations interest in wider systems change.

    Anna says we will need to increase the scale of thinking in this space. We need collaboration, platforms will not be able to do this on their own. There are encouraging signs, but it remains to be seen how they will be adapted to support the most vulnerable.

    What are the main opportunities to disrupt the high fixed outgoings faced by gig workers? Sho says income smoothing is exactly what Portify is trying to do. Things like breaking down monthly payments to weekly payments can make life much easier.
