They’re more stable and rugged than you’d imagine. Under field conditions the failure mode was far more often to fail completely rather than drift out of spec.
I never took a tone reed apart.

Neat! Thanks! So more stable in temperature extremes than, say, crystals? I would imagine because of the size difference of what is being impacted?
