Hi man I have a hackintosh with a 4K monitor. How can I enable HiDPI on it ?
-
Just run "sudo defaults write /Library/Preferences/com.apple.windowserver.plist DisplayResolutionEnabled -bool true" in Terminal. You can use SwitchResX to add custom (larger) HiDPI resolutions.

Is it possible on imac 24 or 24 cinema display?
-
It is! You just need to have a Kepler or newer nVidia card, or Intel HD Graphics 4000 or newer.

Did you use terminal or an app?
-
Used one Terminal command, as well as SwitchResX to add custom HiDPI resolutions.

Doesn’t that make the resolution/usable space super small though?
-
It makes it somewhat smaller, but the way I set it it was scaled to 1920x1200. So still plenty of space.
