Helo, if i want to skip the auto parching in catalina patcher, do i simply need to click "skip" on the post installation menu prior to installing the OS ? or is there any "off" toggle somewhere else ? @dosdude1

Well, apparently thats not a case with several 15 and 17 units. Thus apple released 2.3 EFI firmware update back in 2012. unfortunately, one unit i acquired seems like never applied this update prior to updating to yours. It simply wont work with a SATA 3 drive.

If i plug SATA 2 SSD and HDD, it work fine, but SATA 3 SSD simply wont boot on this particular unit. Doesnt matter what brands i use. I end up using old Intel 320 SSD on it.

I also tried to bless the EFI .scap file extracted from the 2.3 EFI update.pkg manually from terminal. The macbook beeping indicating it about to installing firmware, but after few clicking noise cycle (from optical - indicating a reboot) it just boot into system.

I wonder whether you got any idea on how to apply this old fimrware update package to this unit. But if that seems impossible, i might just settle with old Intel 320 here.
