My 2012 rMBP is starting to fail on me, and I’ve considered ‘downgrading’ to the unibody Macbook or the white macbook too and upgrade it to 10.13. How’s the performance so far?

The old school plastic ones are indestructible (A1181 models). The newer Unibody ones (A1342 models) are pretty crappy and fail for no reason, especially the keyboards.

Oh yeah, definitely worth getting. Still better than the absolute trash that is the 2015+ 12" MacBook, and 2016+ MacBook Pros.
