@dosdude1 How can I revert APFS ROM Patcher flash to use the software implementation? Tried to use ROMTool w/backup.bin but modified boot up text still appears. APFS Patcher has not every option. (Mojave install updated to Catalina). Cheers!
I have just updated Catalina Patcher to version 1.0 Beta 9, which now includes a software APFS booting implementation. This means that having native APFS support in your system's BootROM is no longer required to run Catalina! Download can be found at http://dosdude1.com/catalina

I'm a bit confused.. You NEED APFS ROM patch if you DON'T want the scrolling text at boot.. That is only necessary if your system does NOT have APFS ROM support. If you do have APFS ROM Patch applied, you can set your startup disk to the APFS volume to bypass the software booter.
