Still no luck, BTW. Install appears to me succeed, but progress spinner hangs upon forced cache rebuild. Reboots to
screen. -
Try using HFS. You may need to select "Show All Devices" in the View menu of Disk Utility when in the installer.

Mac mini 3,1 APFS was the only choice available First install w/o erasing previous drive: install failed with a ton of what seemed like path errors. Installing clean then stalled at indexing; didn’t reboot Tried rebooting / forced reindexing: finished, then failed at restart
