@ETreharne in Q&A notes 1 huge problem of the survey course -- there is only so much we can cram into 10-week or 15-week courses.
(Hearing someone senior admit this is important to me. When I teach a survey, or MDVL101, I grieve/feel guilty for what I can't cover) #MLA18 #s398

Yes. This fall, North America appeared in my MDVL101 (carries a *global* GenEd, so let's take that seriously). Next time, I want to do much more. Perhaps there needs to be a conference / colloquium in which Native American Studies and Medieval Studies join forces? (

I will be talking about making the pre-modern "global" in my talk at
#Kzoo2018: "‘Global’ as a Programmatic Strategy,” part of the panel organized by @sdavissecord, “Teaching a Diverse and Inclusive Middle Ages.” The Americas have to be included from the get-go, not "add-on". - Show replies

Is this work by
@Nahir_Otano available digitally? -
No, it's not. I presented at a conference this summer. It comes out of my research on Arthurian texts from the peripheries of Europe.
