If we threw out everything written by a sexist we would have practically no editions, pre-70’s scholarship etc. (and of course few medieval sources) So yeah, use it, but be aware of the gendered assumptions.

As someone who does editing and particular the issues around digital editing, we can discuss the entire ways scholarly editions have also a history of excluding, erasing, etc. The archivists and librarians are so much clearer about this. Archives are always political.

If you ignore 50% of the bodies in history b/c of your virulently misogynist biases, exactly how is that good, evidence-based, groundbreaking scholarly work? It's not. So when things come out about scholars with some virulent ideologies, the odds r high their work has problems.
