It's kinda funny how the models of toxic white masculinity always seem to gravitate towards ideas similar to Breivik and the Unabomber
I mean, he even blamed trans people as "The Source of Social Problems"!pic.twitter.com/fM1FBhbtuG
But! regardless of my facetious reminder, I believe it's worth bringing this back bc some media/book writers claim these ideas are new
Like the alt-right was born out of a response to PoC/ feminists/ trans ppl advocating for rights etc. NO! They are part of a genealogy!
"The best way to achieve racial equality is by being conciliatory towards white people"pic.twitter.com/61IbkQI39l
To all these analysis claiming these ideas are "new" and just came to life in 4chan or alt right forum, I'll quote this great philosopherpic.twitter.com/io2rn1X3t7
Niche version of this: in context of ongoing conversations about the unbearable whiteness of medieval studies, +
there was a blogpost this week arguing that "medievalists and white supremacists should learn from each other". Sigh.
of course! "learn from each other" = adopt tactics and discourses. Or another way of saying "join the winning team"
I am so tired of it all coming from white men. Thanks for this nice reminder of where these genealogies come from.
