Several of us have asked questions and they are filtering them. Ones that deal with racism and white supremacy have not received a response from the moderator. #medievaltwitter

So is there a reason @SocAntiquaries that you have decided to censor questions?

particularly interesting they appear to have steered away from questions addressing controversy and current events while they themselves in their announcement earlier said they had invited Prof Hines specifically “to examine this controversial & current topic”

So they just want to say they are discussing racism but letting the one who called racist, xenophobic slurs have the platform?

on the other hand, judging from his response to the one question that topically addressed controversy he doesn’t seem to have the expertise required to address any of the issues involved, so perhaps better they censored any other questions in that particular direction ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

So why did they ask him to give a talk on this?

beats me. he appears to have given a reasonably decent overview of the absence of the use of “Anglo-Saxon” in the primary sources. but other than that he doesn’t seem to have answered the brief, no, unless they were misrepresenting the brief in their earlier tweet.

I see though he continues to propagate the fake-news conspiracy theory that racism is an American problem. Did everyone ignore the UK's government report on institutional racism: https://committees.parliament.uk/publications/3376/documents/32359/default/ …
