Exactly this. Chris has been content to try and move on. Others are seeming to enjoy the attention and notoriety. The clever cropping of these tweets is just to keep the focus on them and their desire to play the victim.

Exactly. But it was never about that. We said over and over that Chris was never going to buy the book, library access is truncated because of the pandemic. What else are we supposed to do? I am open to suggestions aside from shelling out € I don’t have for books.

But the goalposts were moved with every tweet. If publishers are relying on grad students to make money then that seems like a poor business model.
