Thank you to my colleagues, especially my junior cohort for this work. There is a paragraph here about white faculty doing the work because Black faculty are exhausted. THEY DID THE WORK. It is possible, people. Thank you

This is fabulous and also, yes to this line because the structural white supremacy that manifests in premodern history shows up in the tiny, tiny numbers: "While several white faculty members research the history of predominantly non-white regions, the inverse is not true."

Right! In good news, Medieval studies and history was actually brought up by a couple of my colleagues on this same point so please know y'all are definitely having an impact and doing important work.
