I think we should be listening to the historians, scholars, and activists who are telling us not to look to the 1960s, and possibly not even 2014, because we might be seeing a different political formation, or possible movement, emerging in the midst of COVID era state violence

Yes. The conditions are different. There is also a kind of iterative organization that has moved/developed much further at this moment. This is overlapping between ongoing organizing for years. And then the intersection of the pandemic & what looks to be a massive depression.

Like everyone already knows how it goes from digital info. to preparing to go out (list of things to bring etc,) to the overlap w/ mutual aid, etc. the conditions of this admin. has accelerated things & it's really different now, I am think of the DC protests from last night.

I can't go out b/c of health stuff, but from what I have seen online & reports from colleagues, this feels different. There is already grief & has been for a while but now people are just DONE. the protests are going for institutions, & they are not interested in pablum anymore.
