Also for RaceB4Race we believe in centering BIPOC scholars. So are they BIPOC scholars. This cuts the numbers down dramatically. History’s training (unlike religious studies-so beside lit.,) has been hostile to up to date methodology in social sciences.

As someone who does religious studies, and literally writes things on primary MS documentation. And I have published historiography articles in history journals, I also think it is interesting to consider why a Lit. Journal published

In medieval history, it is impossible to publish critical race work (this is work that is up to date in the last 5-10 years of social science research on race) in a history journal. They do not have the peer review readers for it nor have the editorial know how to find it.

I expect this means that the medieval critical race work will be concentrated for a while in lit. Journals w/ lit. Editors but we will publish from all fields.

By massive discouragement to students like
@LopezJantzen to do this work in medieval studies, it will take time to catch up on 60 years of scholarship & convos & and then do the material work to do this research. I expect this is going to take time in medieval history. -
