Alyssa Day 🐅 - I can't quit you, Tweeps!Verified account @Alyssa_DayWAIT! What the actual fuck does this mean? Because recently resigned RWA president Carolyn Jewel wrote to me 12/24/19 and said: "Thanks for writing to me. As a former Board member, you know more than most members how an Ethics complaint is conducted. https://twitter.com/courtneymilan/status/1210721424651870215 …Show this thread2 replies 14 retweets 115 likesShow this thread -
I‘ve known about this for a while, and it was deeply disturbing to me. The letter states: “A COMPLAINT FILED BY A MEMBER IS ONLY THE START, AND THAT COMPLAINT CAN MAKE CLAIMS THAT ARE NOT VIOLATIONS OR THAT ARE IRRELEVANT TO THE ONES THAT MIGHT BE FOUND TO BE VIOLATIONS.”

Thing is, the only thing I was ever told about was the complaints by Tisdale. So what were these “violations” that were found that were “irrelevant” to the things that were not found to be violations? Where did they come from? Who filed them? What did the Board here?

Why, when the Ethics procedure is so clear, that the accused *must* receive a copy of complaints against them and be offered the opportunity to respond... Why would there be “violations” that were found on something that was “irrelevant” to the complaint given to me?

Carolyn’s letter suggested that the Board may have acted on information that was not in the complaint. Who gave that information? Well, Damon has just admitted that he did.

And Damon has admitted that the Board did not have access to the information in the complaints—which means that they did not *see* the complaints until they were posted on Twitter.

Once the Board did, they immediately recanted the opinion, and after another two days, resigned, citing a lack of faith in RWA’s leadership.

I call on Damon Suede to resign for providing ”additional information” to the Board about an Ethics complaint which was not provided to the accused, and where the accused was not given an opportunity to respond.
