Is crowd-sourcing your field list so you don't have to drop money on 100+ books some taboo that I wasn't aware of? Because I'm a single-income parent and need all the help I can get.

Is there a reason the works aren’t available in your library or by ILL?

If/when you can’t get your own copies, I recommend clear sticky notes as an alternative — I could never have purchased my reading lists (many are out of print, or are $$$) so stickies (with page numbers marked) that I then collated onto notebook pages later was my method.

This is all to say that I have never met anyone from any program that presumes that you will buy all of your lists.

Yes, no one expects you to acquire and own everything on your lists. Reading them, yes. Buying them, no. Notes on them, yes.
