Next week I will be delivering a keynote speech at UMich on public scholarship & mentoring grad students. Spoiler alert: my talk is not directed at grad students (they've done everything right). It's directed at faculty, institutions, & the profession. What advice would you give?

2/ they encouraging them to do this? Are these faculty, institutions, etc. giving maximum credit for this work? Have these institutions looked at best practices for keeping their public scholars safe, secure, and generally free from retaliation & harm b/c they write publicly?

3/ if faculty, institutions, etc. do not understand how social networks, social media, public media, etc. work now, please do not make the junior + grad. student explain Digital 101 to them. Unless you are paying them as a consultant to get this info. together for you.
