What do you think her stepping down was about & finally just opening up the terrible of what was happening in the org. You are imagining that good white medievalists are going to step up, but look at the board and who was on, they did not, not even for, give me a code of conduct.

Dorothy. I'm very sorry that my call for compassion angered you. I tweeted that I feared my words would be misread, and it seems that they have been, but I realize I can do nothing in this forum to change your mind about my racism.

I think the issue is that critiquing a "call-Out" rather than wondering what are the conditions for these things, the power dynamics, and why, and also what are the coalitions who are organizing to say enough, what does that mean than saying the act of calling out is a problem?

Mary is an independent scholar, she did it this w/ no compensation, no institutional resources, w/ her own health, well-being, mental health, and money on the line to do the work to change this white supremacist boat. She is also a BIWOC. So, consider that.

So if we are calling out to support an independent scholar who has put all of those things listed on the line in order to help change a white supremacist org, I really find then some critique that our support is the problem a huge issue.

And really, particularly when actually doing the work of trying to move the white supremacist ship alone means having to take on more racist, sexist trauma. You are asking for compassion, but for who? And what affect is allowed for those of us supporting Mary?

Dorothy, again, it's clear you've made up your mind about me. There's nothing I can do about that. I'm muting this thread, because I have anti-racist work to do, whether you believe that of me or not, and I will not allow bullying to stop me from doing that work.

Exactly how is this bullying rather than pointing out the problem w/ the tweet in the first place? And how does that fit into antiracism if we cannot actually point to issues and critique? And really name calling is a way to be antiracist?

and what is the point of throwing the "I am an antiracist" shield when the entirety of what we are signaling Mary about is asking for ISAS to be antiracist.

I am also really perplexed how someone who says they are doing antiracism work decides they want to call a BIWOC a bully for basically pointing out the discussions about racialized affect and issues around who get compassion. How is this not textbook white feminism?
