I wish this had come into my feed *before* a senior, established, and permanently employed UK scholar started calling individual grad students "twats" on here and the only ones from the UK publicly raising it as an issue are, yep, ECRs. sigh.

Scholars have discussed how affect is unevenly distributed in regards to race, gender, etc. So, you may want to consider why backing and supporting a BIWOC and her labor (as well as the turmoil it has taken on her life) should not have everyone' empathy or sympathy.
