There are 9-12 speakers at each #RaceB4Race. There is no registration fee so ppl can come. No one in this thread who is asking why white iberianists are not centered has come to #RaceB4Race.So how is a critique of the predominately BIWOC organizing this series & finding resources
If Iberian studies cannot say race or have an identifiable group of BIPOC scholars in Iberian studies, that is something it should reflect on. If Iberian studies is committed to a critical premodern race studies as @Elysabethgrace has laid out it is political, antiracist, etc.

But if you are saying that somehow white Iberianists want a seat at a table when the labor is being done by BIWOC to create a BIPOC centered table in premodern, then they need to get out of this lane b/c it is not theirs. Also, to tell BIWOC that somehow they must do more labor.

Then you and other white Iberianists should consider exactly why the work of antiracism is on the labor of BIWOC and how this fits nothing in relation to how antiracism, political intersectional organizing works.
