What about plant-based leathers? Like banana leather and pineapple leather, fungi leather and coconut leather?
I think the original tweet made it pretty clear. Is it synthetic? If it's not, what is the issue? None of the list you gave is synthetic.

Sorry that is what I was asking, are all vegan leathers also plastic? Am not a chemist, but I understood plastics can be made from plants? Quite concerned as you said “Just in case you don't know vegan leather is just plastic. Usually PVC or polyurethane” which has confused me.
