It’s CFP season and I’m interested in suggestions/tips/best practices for circulating them in broader networks beyond our own in order to be more diverse and inclusive in terms of texts and presenters. Could we start a thread on this? @JonathanHsy ?

Yes, related to this idea: it's more than a CFP going out to a wide network. The CFP itself should show close engagement issues/communities it is hoping to attract. I guess I'd say it's context specific; how does the CFP create a vision & what/who is part of that vision?

Great info! Thank you. Yes in my experience (which is limited!), sometimes a field is trying to intentionally be more diverse and so is working to dialogue / engage those communities but might not always see implicit bias or barriers. So that needs to be worked on for sure.

Good Q and consideration. Maybe we need ideas for how to address conferences (or edited collections or special issues etc) that are safe and others that are failing at that but wanting to do better?
