Though much of the press has been focused on @KzooICMS , they have responded and also sent emails to ask for feedback to address things. #IMC2019 @IMC_Leeds has officially never responded.

I brought it up at a roundtable this morning;
@DollyJorgensen said it was being addressed, but the actual incident itself was not mentioned afaik. And it should be! Horrified you never received an apology, never mind a response, Dorothy.1 reply 0 retweets 5 likes -

I should just clarify here that what I said in the round table was that ensuring diversity at the conference was brought up in the committee meeting and everyone agreed that this needs to be targeted. There was no mention of a specific incident. Just FYI.

I referred to it, though not directly (I think). It was certainly what drove me to put up my hand!

Your question asked about intersectionality and what the panelists thought about their own positions. I had no idea that there was a specific context or history behind the question (although you may have had one).

See I thought *everyone* knew about it... IMC 2017 was a public scandal. I also assumed the committee would have been open about why they needed to address the problems, particularly to their new members!

These are however legal processes w university lawyers involved so these are things that both take time (having worked w the Leeds Univ legal team on a research contract signing, I can vouch for the slowness of the system!) and will not be in the public eye.

I think this is basically further administrative pablum. He could have at the very least responding to one of my 3 emails before the incident. Or emailed me after we found out what happened w/ anything. He did not. How is it I am not having an issue discussing security w/ NCS

Next year in Durham but
@IMC_Leeds has taken a year and have done nothing to contact me or even assure anyone else that it is taking any of this seriously with assurances? So no. They have had a year. They do not get off w/ waiving a lawyer. Then you are saying no conference in3 replies 0 retweets 1 like
The director of @IMC_Leeds at the very least is a terrible director in the face of security crisis and issues around inclusivity. So waving legal is completely a screen. He seems only to make any communicative statements when he is pressured by public critique.
