@JonathanHsy and @dorothyk98 altered my outlook forever with their roundtable-type discussion on decolonising medieval studies at IMC 2017. Also - slightly different - but watching the lectures of Alison Findlay and @earlymodatLancs while at Lancaster taught me a huge amount.
So if you attend @IMC_Leeds you do so at your own risk. Do not expect the conference to ever address your legitimate safety, security, or other concerns. #IMC2019

I think one of the things people don't realize though
@SLevelt can attest to, is that I thought about just not coming at all b/c they refused to address my security & safety issues. In the end I came, but it also meant I could not really attend anything else b/c I did not know - Show replies

I hear your concern and will bring it up. I would, however, encourage you to avoid making blanket negative statements about future conference interactions because things do change as voices involved in processes change.

As far as I understand it, Axel has been head of the conference & org for a while. I was emailing him. He seems to have final say in many things. As for the processes changing, I understand unless the changed it from last year, that there is no regularly democratically organized
