yet I have not so far run into a single "defense" of DH that accurately portrays the arguments we make. not one.

nearly every time, it is transumted into the argument DH defenders WISH we were making, that we go out of our way, in simple English, to indicate we are not making. and we'll call this "close reading."

Well considering the responses to the CI article.... and yes, I have my students read it in grad. DH Methods. And
