Look at all the recent gaming books that address race, gender, LGBTQIA, everyone of them address GG and white supremacy. The ones that don’t thought it was fine to invite Bannon to a gaming conference. Do you understand what kind of damage you can do to harm diverse gamers?

Or shall we talk to the scholars of the alt-right who can tell you how utterly intense both medieval + gaming is in this world

I am not interested in "debate" when basically it's to defend white supremacy as something to "debate." Also, if you are going to debate, bring, as I have already said, evidence-based research. I can quote pieces, research, going back years for days.

If we love games, we should be able to take them seriously which means engaging critically with them as a cultural form. We cannot keep acting like the medium is not being leveraged to cause real harm. Conveniently, I just wrote a blog post about this.http://www.sparklebliss.com/something-has-happened/ …

"Games are neat and not all bad" is not a thing that needs saying. We would not accept this as a frame for inquiry into any other medium. It is like how people delight in telling me they don't play games. Like, ok? Do you tell lit profs you don't read books? Games are ancient.

Since "much of the pleasure of videogames comes at the expense of women & people of color, both literally & figuratively" (.
@lnakamur 9), might I ask how "much of the pleasure of videogame studies & critique comes at the expense of women, people of color, & LGBTQ people" -
I am increasingly convinced almost all of it. The major listserv for the field is structured to enable the abuse of junior and marginalized members of the progression, and most act like this is both fine and necessary.
