In listening to conversations on #DH at the #maa2019, I am irked at the ungenerous ways we demand digital work justify itself--the presumption of vanity and frivolity--ways in which we don't confront "traditional" (hardcopy?) writing/scholarship.

h'okay someone's making the great point that we do not peer-review most digital work (partially because it's hard to review living projects), and that's a problem. Still not the only reason people assume digital tools are "an answer in search of a question."

DH people have already explained how to evaluate their work and yes it does get peer-reviewed, but differently than traditional humanities single-author monographs etc.
