Queasiness & sickness in VR is generally caused by VR requiring the brain to construct the experience differently than it constructs sensory experience in the world. Google earth VR does me in.

So we reconstructed the VR experience. Instead of moving toward & around 3D objects, such as manuscript pages or carved stones, the experience feels as if the objects move around you.

This is why it is so important for scholars to be involved in VR design, recognizing problems like this and pushing to solve or mitigate them. VR is a constructed environment, one that requires scholarly rigor. It is not set.
