If the two major projects in the Global Middle Ages centers around the work of BIWOC, explain again how exactly this is a good optic to have an entire network of white medievalists (apparently there are no BIPOC in area studies) and 1 token Asian scholar?

This is not about
#areastudies (which is itself part of the problem) ; it is about medieval history and diversifying that field, in this case esp in Europe. -
And so, by diversifying the field, they are going to include almost an entirely white panel in their network. I am waiting to see how that is diversifying because it pretty much does not do that.
