I don't know a fat person who hasn't sat down to dinner or god forbid, ice cream and been asked "Do you need to eat that?" And yes, you can say "I need the calories to put up with your shit."

You can say that. I can't. What happens to me is that my appetite goes away, my stomach stops growling and I can't physically swallow food. I know it's psychological. I know it's a trauma response. I have been to therapy. I cannot stop it.

So I'm not going to ask permission to get greasy cheap food on Twitter again. Instead, I'm gonna tell y'all when I decide I need a cheeseburger and the next tweet will be how fucking delicious that cheap ass cheeseburger was.

Money is tight for me, which is the other reason I wanted to just get a cheeseburger and didn't want to go to a "nicer" fast food joint. Qdoba is a mile away and I'd been on my feet since 7 am. Also the delivery fee was more than the food.

Fast food is not only cheap, it's high in calories. if you only have $5, you can feel fuller and get more calories out of Taco Bell than at Goodtimes. I love Goodtimes and their commitment to high quality beef. I also know not everyone can afford it.

I'm going to stop asking permission and start telling what I need to do. I think that's the best thing for me in this situation. Asking permission to eat is something I don't have to do. It was something my abuser made me do.

That's what I have to say about that.

Actually, no it's not. If we had sufficient staffing yesterday at my
@PPRockyMountain affiliate, I would have had time for more than half of a PBJ (I got interrupted trying to eat quickly). This is part of the reason I support a union. Nurses... can't "just leave and go eat."2 replies 0 retweets 7 likesShow this thread -
I'm tired of being told "Just take your break and others will deal with it." They'll deal with it as a nurse is off the floor and nothing can move forward with them. And I'll deal with it as a fat person needing to eat and getting judged by thin people.

If I was able to schedule a lunch break at the beginning of my shift, and someone was there to cover and maintain patient flow, I'd be off the floor and no one would stare rudely as I try to choke down food.

What. Seriously. They need to let you have lunch in peace.
