I know some of you might be a little frustrated than I'm not as generally "available" as I used to be, but the bottom line is that I can no longer afford to be, for my own safety. I'm frustrated by it, too.

I'm a multiply marginalized person living in the US so I spend most of my time trying not to die of poverty, preventable illnesses, or gun violence. I don't get mail because no one knows where I live and I very rarely leave the house. That's my reality.

On the other hand, I get to do this, and spend time talking about stuff I'm incredibly passionate about, learning and sharing knowledge with all of you. So that's kind of living the dream for me.

The paper screens American genocides have always operated behind are kind of being torn down, and hatreds nurtured for centuries are being laid bare once again for all to see. I honestly much prefer to be a student of history than an eyewitness. It is mortally uncomfortable.

In this age where everyone is constantly being bombarded with information from all sides, the illusion that "if people only KNEW" is torn away once again, and the honest truth that people KNOW, they just don't CARE, is what makes me more tired than anything else.

Being inspired by the past is what helps me imagine and invent a better future. Doing that helps me tolerate and survive the present. If I can help anyone else populate the toolbox they use to cope, to survive, I am overjoyed. But this is what helps me. So, thank you.
