No, antivax IS a conspiracy theory. It’s the conspiracy theory that vaccines cause autism, autoimmune disorders, etc. The copious evidence that they cause none of these things is dismissed with the claim that pharma, etc., suppress the “real science.” THAT’s a conspiracy theory.https://twitter.com/ambiebambie326/status/1199495695465623552 …

I view myself as my child’s caretaker. I take care & make decisions for her best interest - until she can. I give her options when appropriate for her age and maturity (she’s 5). She even gets to dictate if & for how long I tickle, and always has.
-
And yes, she’s vaccinated to the vaccine schedule where I live. Including influenza.

Bodily autonomy addresses a person’s right to choose what is to be done with their body. When you choose not to vaccinate and not to protect your children from disease, their bodily autonomy does not come into play.

What should we do if our children want to: (1) Drive a Car (2) Drink Alcohol (3) Smoke (4) Get a Tattoo (5) Get Plastic Surgery (6) Travel Internationally by Themselves?
-
Parents have rights to make decisions for their children. But that’s parental autonomy, not bodily autonomy - and it’s more limited: parental autonomy can be overridden for the child’s welfare, in some circumstances.
