IMO, the most culpable party here, as so often, is the culture of masculinity and the values we've placed on it over the centuries ... control, specifically in this case. It's sadly no surprise the long-needed focus on women's rights and roles in society creates groups like this
I keep seeing people blaming Reddit for the whole "Incel" thing and I just don't know. That's just a platform. Maybe they should be blamed for letting such communities fester unchecked, but then they'd just find another forum. Feel like the problem is bigger than a website.

This isn't to absolve men who think and act on these things of blame, because c'mon. You take action on these opinions, you absorb the blame. But it will be a good day when the toxicity of masculinity is no longer as strong a cultural force as it still is.

I hold out hope that's changing in our upcoming generations and we just haven't seen it yet. The anxiety about equality and diversity in our societies and the devastation that's causing is getting pretty goddamn exhausting.
