I am in England and people are talking to me in English and after spending three weeks listening to nothing but French it sounds like they are shouting deliberately hurtful gibberish about every insecurity I’ve ever had.

Weird, I have the opposite reaction every time I come back from France to London. French is very un-melodic to my ear (like honking geese) and loud, while English people speak low and smooth. I've lived in France and still preferred English, spoken by Brits.
