right now i'm half-assedly playing around with the idea of unincorporated communities from my ancestral home of smith county TN reimagined as bustling metropolises, and i do just want to bring your attention to the names of those communitieshttps://twitter.com/rinshankouhai/status/1052803808693112832 …

ima just do the G&D line in cities:skylines, but with more leftismhttps://www.youtube.com/watch?v=j0tHHK-LI6Y …
-
how do you represent leftism in the colorful finnish world of skylines i guess it's probably easier than SC4 which insists that poor people don't need water and it'd just be a waste of money until you're ready to bring in wealthy people
-
i mean at least SC4 was accurate in as much so that you can, in fact, just dig a well to get enough water for daily needs -- so long as y'all aren't in a really dense area
-
i doubt the kind of trailer park modular home sprawl you make in the early stages is being serviced by wells but it's a fair point. i just couldn't help laughing at how the tutorial heavily emphasizes that education, water and other basic services are wasted on the poor
-
In sc4 I always built schools first and planned neighborhoods around access to them because it pays off in the long run.
-
It probably contributed to ignorant liberal me in college believing that education was the solution to poverty when education just narrows the competitive gap while keeping wage labor and inequality intact. I don't think people should have to compete to not be impoverished.

you’re preaching to the choir my friend. ACAB bash the fash join the one big union eat the rich et cetera

I know this isn’t what you’re looking for but I only once played cities skylines casually and I’d really like to know how it is you go about making cities from both a technical and design perspective. Maybe it’s worth a bonus ep or two, or there’s a channel you can recommend?

St. Louis could be interesting. You'd get to talk about Pruitt-Igoe, highways ruining everything, trains, and that big metal arch thing
