Right as I headed to the airport, airline news broke and I’m unable to cover it.
Airline execs at the JP Morgan Industrials Conf. talked #businesstravel recovery, fuel-cost challenges + rising revenues. Fares are going up. #travel #airlines #corporatetravel

Closed airspace adds complexity to air travel recovery, at least near-term. "The reality for travelers doing business is unpleasant: canceled flights, longer flights and flights with more connections." bit.ly/3CoMttT #airtravel #businesstravel #corporatetravel

Mourning the loss of one of the last of NYC's iconic dance clubs: The Pyramid Club. Been going there since the late 1980s. Even as I aged, I never felt "too old" to enjoy getting on the dance floor there. And no, this is not an April Fool's joke. bit.ly/31zyFLo
But! The sender caught his mistake and just sent an apology and correction. Unfortunately, the pitch still is not a fit...

I always chuckle when I get a pitch that has clearly NOT been correctly vetted. Today, the sender had me as an editor at the Milwaukee Business Journal. I've been to Milwaukee once, and I liked it. But that's the extent of my connection. :)

Pleasantly surprised to hear my former J-School prof this morning on NYT's The Daily podcast discussing the minimum wage increase issue. Great episode! nyti.ms/3r4jG6B #minimumwage

Started the day with the very sad news that Marriott CEO Arne Sorenson had passed away. I've covered this industry for 20 years, and he was one of the best and most respected leaders I've seen. RIP.

Nearly 200 more U.S. hotels closed btwn 12/18 and 12/25 for a total of 1,954, according to Kalibri Labs' industry health dashboard. Let's hope these properties get stimulus relief soon, or the negative trend will continue into Q1 2021. bit.ly/38h8FIT #hotels

This. NYT article about sexism & #whisky, and one author in particular. Been a Scotch drinker for 30+ years and still get comments from men, usually other customers, when I order an Islay at a bar. It's ridiculous and time for change. nyti.ms/2GDd25w #whiskey

I just saw a real estate piece of content that describes NYC's West Village as having a "suburban feel." I am repulsed by this description. It is changing, yes, and too many chains are going in, but the West Village still is far from feeling suburban.
