Explain just how the NRA has anything to do with gun violence. Why don't you blame the evil idiots who commit it instead? People had greater access to guns 50 yrs ago, but they weren't shooting up everything. No respect for human life has changed, not guns.

A pediatrician? Its none of their damn business if a family owns a gun. None of these things would prevent a crazy from walking into a school and shooting up the place. Gun control starts with self control, focus your energy there.

Patient safety is definitely their business. They have no say whether or not a family owns a gun, but talks about gun safety around children are necessary and should occur. Are you really that paranoid that talks of gun safety to decrease child deaths threatens you? Why?

Never said anywhere in my comment that I opposed talks of gun safety. Majority of gun owners in this country practice gun safety on their own without the need of a pediatrician.

And? Many do not, and we see gun violence as a significant cause of death and injury to toddlers. General safety is absolutely a part of child care. Since our society loves guns, they are part of that discussion. The NRA is against that. Why, if they are truly for gun safety?
