This is incredibly generous! Given that we spent a good chunk of the last decade working on the book, happy to take the compliment!

In previous years, they just reported the final delegate count. Both the caucus workers and the participants didn't understand the rules for recording votes at each stage. It was chaotic. People didn't know when to write down their preferences. 2/x

One thing I know from observing 3 precincts of the Caucus is that the problems were not just the reporting app. There is also a big logistical problem with reporting vote counts at both the initial and final stages, plus the delegate count, which they'd never tried before. 1/2

Death by 1,000 ten-minute tasks - how can we reduce administrative burdens imposed by federal research grants on university researchers?

Hot take: Reporting correct results slowly, while bad, is better than reporting incorrect results quickly, which has happened several times previously.

  13. That good experiences are important to citizen satisfaction with govt may seem banal, but I spend a lot of time arguing with people who believe that the key is to better communicate performance results to people. It’s a very different philosophy.

  14. Good example of a basic point - the best way to improve citizen satisfaction and trust in govt is to look closely at how to improve their interactions with public services

Some early morning caucus thoughts: 1. A lousy night for . Rampant speculation about the delays without reporting any evidence for hours about the reason. This kind of things sows mistrust of our electoral process and fuels conspiracism. If you don’t know, just say so. 1/

New from me: No, liberal professors are not brainwashing their students. You all know the Indoctrination Thesis. For large sections of the Right, it is taken as Gospel proof. But the overwhelming weight of evidence says it does not happen.
