Apple fully supports a tiny subset of their PC hardware. Linux is distributed as firmware packages, built and tested by developers. Windows is the only operating system in the world that ships updates directly to consumers without comprehensive hardware and software validation.

the spicier take would be asking why, in YOOL 2020, Windows still requires me to install some sketchy driver for my motherboard to function properly, when Linux manages to make it all work without the vendor's support
