      #ffmpeg twitter: I'm trying to stream some video from stdin to a v4l2 sink, and I'm using ffmpeg -i - -vcodec rawvideo -pix_fmt yuvj420p -threads 0 -f v4l2 /dev/video0 which works and all, but only at 640x424. I can't find a highres pix_fmt setting tho. what am i doing wrong?

      Is the resolution even dependent on -pix_fmt? My incoming video stream should be 1080p. Most other pix_fmt settings I've tried immediately fail too like yuvj420

      pix_fmt is the colorspace encoding, nothing to do with resolution, it's possible the v4l2 device exposes multiple video streams at different resolutions. can you ffprobe it?

      i think you just need to specify -video_size 1920x1080

          otherwise it might be defaulting to low res if any of resolution/framerate/pix_fmt doesn't match what's supported or i have no idea sorry

          Hmm. I'm actually wondering now if this is an ffmpeg problem at all or if my video source is being weird (gphoto2). Thanks for the links anyway, I'm gonna have a look and see if I can't figure something out
