Turkish Parliament has passed the bill allowing deployment for Turkish troops in Libya, with 325 votes for and 184 against the bill, carried through AKP & MHP alliance while CHP, IYI Party, HDP, Saadet Party, TIP opposed the bill.

Earlier today, Saadet Party had announced that they would vote "yes" for the Libya bill, while members of parliament from Saadet voted against the bill.

During the parliamentary session voting on deployment of Turkish troops in Libya, Presidential Alliance expected to pass the bill with 340 votes while only reaching 325. Opposition missed a total of 65 deputies present at the quorum to oppose the bill.

Oda TV journalists Barış Terkoğlu and Hülya Kılınç had been detained on MArch 4 for their coverage of Turkish intelligence officers killed in Libya after publishing an article on the "silent funeral".

Terkoğlu and Kılınç were arrested on March 5 due to revealing of "secret information on intelligence officers." Turkish Journalists Society called for release of the journalists.

Oda TV was blocked for access as of March 5 by BTK Information and Communication Technologies Authority. Oda TV announced they will continue airing broadcasts on Youtube. International Press Institute called for release of arrested journalists and opening of the news portal.

A judicial decision was made for the journalists who have been in detention for 4 months: Barış Terkoğlu, Aydın Keser and Ferhat Çelik have been released on probation. Barış Pehlivan, Hülya Kılınç and Murat Ağırel remain in detention.
