Commodore PET was the first computer I ever used. What an iconic shape!

Same. Elementary school, 77-78. Was in a classroom closet because nobody knew what to do with it. Someone had put a copy of this in there:pic.twitter.com/E0WYyH4KE4

One of the very first computers I used when I was in high school in the late-70s! I taught myself how to program in BASIC, and I was even allowed to borrow it from the HS Physics Dept over the summer! Almost bought one, but I saw Star Raiders & got an Atari 400 instead!

My GATE class in 6th grade had a Commodor PET that used magnetic cassette tapes for storage. Took like five minutes to load an ASCII-based maze game.

I was typing hex code for those games from the back of a magazine in to my C64 to save to the cassette. There was a program that did checksums on what you entered, but there was no checksums for the hex code for the helper program. *shudders*

When I was in school, the maths class had a single Commodore PET amongst several BBC Micros. Since the teacher didn't know what to do with it and I was the only one who could program it, he said I could take it home to keep. I declined. I was a foolish child.

Seeing this picture reminds me of the summer of 1984, when after years of getting beat up at YMCA camp, I was finally allowed to go to computer camp, where I was beaten up.
