    I am so sorry that people are still fighting for universal health care, free at the point of delivery. After 72 years, this hostile environment undermines the founding principles of our NHS.

    You wanna hear why the UK is racist 😄 We’ve just been hit with a £8k bill for NHS care for my grandad (who’s been living in the UK for 60 years). The man passed away away last August & apparently we are liable for his NHS costs. Despite him being a UK citizen (cont)

    NHS trusts not scrapping charging as part of their plans to tackle racism is deeply hypocritical - the communities they serve have been telling them about the racist harm caused and staff have told them they don’t want to implement them

    Barts Health has a well-intentioned plan to tackle culture change around racism in our local NHS. But migrants denied free care are just revenue -

    Thanks to for highlighting that the NHS is not free for all - it implements policy & charges insurmountable bills for to some patients, then employs private debt companies to hound them for payment. Its racist, unbearable cruel & must be scrapped

    We must have an immediate data firewall between health and social care and the home office - data sharing w/ immigration control is a clear breach of confidentiality and our duty of care to patients. Thanks for this thread

    Tell me how politics is seperate from the workplace when this is violence against migrants & PoC in its purest form? If you decline you are refused life saving healthcare, but if you consent the home office, police, gov services and debt collectors have you in a choke hold.

    As mentioned, we've missed a lot over the last few weeks, so sorry we are abit behind - please check out this important thread - Healthcare workers must act to dismantle the in healthcare to stop the racist harm it does to our patients

    Ngl kinda shook at the overall lack of response from the community in relation to the despicable narratives that the media and gov are portraying atm. The exact same thing happened in response to the BLM movement a few weeks back.
