If you have any friends who think it was an overreaction to fire Stallman over one email thread, or who persist in nitpicking what he did or did not say in said email thread, send them this: https://medium.com/@thomas.bushnell/a-reflection-on-the-departure-of-rms-18e6a835fd84 … #cancelstallman

Nah people aren't "nitpicking" over what was and wasn't said. People are highlighting how Stallman was ousted by headlines trivially revealed as libellous. Now WHO would want to fracture the free software movement and has a history of using such tactics?pic.twitter.com/mF4CZowYAB

I’ll take your bait. Industry gains a lot from the free software movement. Why would the FBI want to fracture it.

FBI would be a placeholder for a range of interests that could be public or private.https://twitter.com/pnlss1/status/1174450259122106368 …

The real issue at play here is that free software recognises no borders. The US can sanction google for working with chinese corporations but they can't sanction free software until their unconventional marines in SJW camouflage have achieved regime change. #cancelstallman pic.twitter.com/hUoQiUuFL4

US Gov can sanction google for providing software to Chinese companies, in cannot sanction Linux. However, there doesn't have to be just one motivation.pic.twitter.com/yEEfq2ldHR

If you remember when the same group came for Torvalds there was the potential that developers would pull their code from the kernel. GPL2 allows for reimposition of copyright. Gnome yesterday cut ties with FSF. Fracture is fracture. Create infighting, dissension, etc.pic.twitter.com/kakeW3O5Ge

Trovalds has a long history of being a dick. But invent a conspiracy if it helps you sleep at night.
