@mjtsai (So even if you skip that EA, how do you restore with that EA in place?) -
@dnanian Ah, thanks for explaining. I wonder what they're going to do for asr. - View other replies

@mjtsai ASR writes sectors, not files, so no problem. -
@dnanian Well, if they intend for that to be allowed, I would think they would be willing to support writing EAs to a non boot volume. -
@mjtsai You’d think. That’s why I’m hoping for documentation on what they *want* us to do.

@dnanian Any chance there may be a forthcoming blog post explaining the issue and keeping us updated with the status of it? -
@toonetown Not until we have a good handle on it, no. But eventually… -
@dnanian Great - too bad it gets broken with every release...SuperDuper! is a great tool for testing new OS versions. -
@toonetown Well, it’s not broken with *every* release. But when they make major changes, it’s not like we can anticipate them. -
@dnanian Very true. I appreciate all the hard work you guys put into the product. It makes our QA cycle very much easier. - View other replies

@dnanian Dave, is this what is causing SD to barf writing EAs to /System/Library/CoreServices on my backup volume? -
@HenryFollows Your use of El Capitan and their new rootless “feature”. Please report it to Apple as well. -
@dnanian Shall do sir!
