@dnanian You can use System Events' process objects to access & control an app's UI elements. That's probably why.

@felix_schwarz Doing *that* should prompt, then. I mean, the app could silently delete all your files, too...

@dnanian … overlooked that there are valid reasons to use "process" objects for things other than UI automation.

@felix_schwarz Alas, this is going to confuse tons of my users...and this is the documented way of checking.

@dnanian …relaunch an application before the change in the Security settings takes effect. Definitely not a good user experience :-(

@petermaurer @felix_schwarz Fortunately, we’re not in the App Store. This stuff is happening even on “unsandboxed” apps. Craziness/awful.
